Eyebag Removal

As we age, the chances of developing bags beneath your eyes increases. There are a number of factors which contribute to their formation including age and genetics. Firstly, fat around your eyes can loosen skin, ligaments and muscles around your eyes. Extra fat then gets behind your eyelid’s support wall causing them to appear baggy. This condition can also occur when the skin becomes too relaxed. In other cases the eyelid’s muscles become thickened. As well as appearing unsightly this condition can also interfere with vision.

Eye bags can not only make you look older than you really are but can also make you look more tired than you really feel. Using a non invasive laser it is now possible to make your face look younger and more alert, without surgery.

The treatment of eye bags uses two different types of lasers. The first acts in the same way as the laser used for our inch loss treatments (Laser Lipo). This reduces fat in the treatment area and tightens the skin. The fat cells are not damaged in any way but are emptied of surplus contents (glycerol, fatty acids etc.).

The second laser penetrates slightly deeper into the skin and is used to treat dark circles. The laser stimulates the body’s natural defence system which in turn triggers mast cells to inhibit the treatment area. This induces collagen and elastin fibre re modelling which contributes to the overall improvement of the skin in this area.
