How Laser Lipo Works

Introducing the LAPEX BCS - the future of body contouring...

The Lapex BCS used in our Essex Laser Lipo treatments is a Class 2, 3B hazard cold red laser machine. This type of machine has been used for over a decade by physiotherapists on sports injuries and to assist the body to heal itself.  So the technology is thoroughly tested and is safe with no negative side-effects.

The Lapex BCS was specifically created to break down unwanted fat cells and is not classified as a medical machine by the government, however due to being a laser it is necessary to be in a Healthcare accredited premises.

How Laser Lipo works

Clients coming in to one of our Essex clinics for Laser Lipo are often curious how it works. When the laser paddles are placed on the skin, the cold red laser beams penetrate the skin just deep enough to reach the layers of fat. When the light hits the fat cells, a rapid chain of events takes place:

  • Firstly, pores form on the cells causing them to spill out.
  • The water, Glycerol and fatty acids move into the interstitial space beneath the fatty layer in the skin.
  • Then further water, fatty acids and Glycerol spill out.
  • The adipocyte cells are therefore reduced in size during the Laser Lipo process.

These effects do not affect the neighbouring structures such as the skin, blood vessels or nerves.

The lymphatic system then removes the fat through the venous system, where they are processed in the same way as fatty foods that are digested.
